The Life Of The Death Penalty
The death penalty is also called capital punishment. Some ways the death penalty is carried out is by shooting, lethal injection, or poison gas.
Of the 50 US states, 37 allow capital punishment. That leaves 13 states that don't allow people to be put to death for any type of crime. The 13 states are: Alaska, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
